The 'Art of Maximising the Amount of Work not Done' is given as one of the twelve Agile Principles. In this talk based on ongoing application development work, I will discuss early results obtained using a controversial meta-pattern aiming at reducing the overhead associated with layered architectures in order to minimise the length of release cycles and, surprisingly, increase maintainability.
